Blanks & Postage (B&P): Bootleg Terms

BLANKS & POSTAGE (B&P):

The term B&P is used in Snail Mail trades only. B&P’S are often offered to traders who are just getting started with little to no shows. B&P stands for “Blanks” and “Postage“. One trader will offer a list of shows that they have already burned to disc. The new/other trader picks shows from that list. Then the new/other trader would post in the forum thread or send a message to the original poster with the list of shows they want. Both traders work out an agreement for blanks & a postage amount. Usually in a trade of this sort the new/other trader would send 1 blank disc for each disc they are getting in return. So, if the show is 2 CDR’S you send 2 CDR’S. If the total amount of discs are 25, your send 25 blank discs to the original poster. At the same time you will also send the postage that it will cost for the original trader to send those shows to you. Postage varies depending upon where both traders live.

With the infusion of online trades being so easy now, most people do not trade through Snail Mail anymore. So B&P’S are somewhat obsolete, but when they are offered most times traders will only request the postage that it takes to send your selection to you. Many traders do not burn shows to disc these days.
