Definition For Checksum
Checksum: This is a unique value used to verify files ensuring they are complete, working properly & not damaged in any way. Torrent sites such as DIME & Trader’s Den require them within the download. Knowing how to check & create them is important as a bootleg trader. These files can be used with ANY type of file that you would trade for including audio & video.
Free Software For Checking Files
If you are verifying an audio show in FLAC format you may not get a checksum file, instead the trader may have included a FLAC Fingerprint. Sometimes traders include both types of files to check your audio show.
